Installation and operation

One-off installation, simple operation

MEDIfogg® is a permanently installed automated system designed for simple everyday operation. Every installation is a high-tech project by our specialist team, carried out in close cooperation with the Technical Testing Institute and with minimal disruption to the department's operation

Operation

The 20-minute MEDIfogg® system cycle complements your existing disinfection measures

MEDIfogg® is a further automated step in the hygiene routine. It does not replace manual disinfection but extends its reach. After routine cleaning and disinfection, over five minutes it treats the air, surfaces, hard-to-reach places and the entire volume of the room without staff needing to be present

  1. Step 1

    Procedure

An operation or procedure according to your usual schedule.

  2. Step 2

    Cleaning and manual disinfection

Your existing hygiene procedure remains unchanged.

    According to your protocol

  3. Step 3 · MEDIfogg®

    Dry fog application and exposure

An automatic cycle in a closed room with no one present. Closed means the door shut and the room empty, not the ventilation switched off. The ventilation stays in operation and draws in the fog just as it does air, so the cycle acts on the air, surfaces and shadowed areas, and the fog also passes through the ventilation outlets.

    5 min application + 15 min exposure

  4. Step 4

    Next procedure

The room is ready without ventilation and without further measures.

What happens in the theatre during the cycle (illustration)
  1. Applicationnozzles disperse dry fog
  2. Exposurefog acts throughout the room
  3. Readyroom is dry and odour-free

Illustration: nozzles below the ceiling disperse dry fog, which fills the entire volume of the room, including the air and places behind equipment, and breaks down into water and oxygen. No ventilation and no wiping.

Application

5 minutes

The nozzles disperse dry fog based on stabilised hydrogen peroxide 7.7% with ionised silver (Ag⁺). The fog evenly fills the entire volume of the room, including the air, surfaces, places behind equipment and hard-to-reach upper surfaces

Exposure and biocidal action

15 minutes

The fog acts on both the air and surfaces and gradually breaks down into water and oxygen. No ventilation or extraction is needed and no toxic residues remain.

Operating the system

The system is operated by the staff who prepare the room today

Operating the system requires no additional staff member and no change to work organisation. Trained staff simply start the automated cycle after completing routine cleaning and manual disinfection of the room.

  1. 01

    Cleaning and starting the cycle

Staff complete routine cleaning and disinfection according to the hygiene plan, leave the room, close the door and start the cycle. From the Control level, starting is linked to RFID, so the record also includes operator identification.

    One button or a schedule

  2. 02

    Automatic disinfection cycle

The room does not require equipment to be moved or surfaces to be covered. Surfaces can remain uncovered, equipment in place and the ventilation can keep running. The cycle needs no supervision.

    20 minutes unsupervised
  3. 03

    Room ready for use

Once the cycle is complete, the entire volume of the room is disinfected and ready for the next procedure. No ventilation, extraction or any additional measures are needed. All surfaces stay dry.

    No further measures

Installation

Installation with minimal disruption to operations

MEDIfogg® is a permanently installed automated system. Our specialist project team installs the piping and nozzles. We schedule the work during a shutdown or outside operating hours so as not to disrupt the running of the department.

  1. 01

    Site survey and solution design

An analysis of your facility's situation, on the basis of which we propose where to place the system and how to lay out the disinfection nozzles. The output is a specific proposal for your rooms, including the piping route.

    Output: proposal and quotation

  2. 02

Installation of the system and piping

We keep disruption to your rooms to a minimum, so installation is completed in the shortest possible time. The system is installed room by room and department by department, starting with one section. We plan the work so that it does not restrict scheduled procedures.

Duration: up to 48 hours per theatre

  3. 03

    Testing, report, training

Before handover, we carry out technical and safety tests of the whole system and hand over the handover report. We train designated staff in simple operation and in the precise method for whole-room dry fog disinfection. Our specialist team provides regular maintenance and servicing.
